Atlas Island is a seasteading initiative through an online community of individuals respecting individual sovereignty and opposing government coercion.

Atlas Island was founded in 2021 to make seasteading a reality by 2031.
The initiative invites people to take their vessel out to see and engage with a community of like-minded individuals.
Atlas Island takes a five-stage process:
- online community to foster and monitor demand (a network state);
- developing a marina for people to live;
- developing a community harbour;
- developing a community on the coast; and
- a community in international waters.
On Atlas Island, every individual is sovereign; therefore, all interactions must adhere to the non-aggression principle and voluntary agreement. The company LiberArx was established to facilitate Atlas Island members transitioning from territorial living to seasteading, with the first vessel being the LiberArx 64.
Implementation
The online community for Atlas Island is managed through a decentralized autonomous organization.
Individuals sign a pledge to become residents of Atlas Island. This pledge obliges residents to uphold the core principles of the non-aggression principle, safeguarding private property and voluntary exchange.
Individual vessels are intended to be owned as private property, respecting the principle of self-sovereignty.
As vessels come together and share a platforms. Owners of vessels who dock must sign a resident contract. The platform operator is responsible for enforcing the terms of the resident contract.
Platforms are note democratic, they are contractual. As vessels can depart a platform and sign another resident agreement, competition becomes key.
Platforms will fly flags under a registry, as cruise liners do, meaning they are subject to international maritime law.
The flagging jurisdiction also offers competition as registries are subject to the offerings of one another attracting vessels seeking to fly their flags.
